FROM THE PRINCIPAL. . .
Welcome to Bethany Middle School! At Bethany, we recognize that middle level student’s experience great changes intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically during the years between elementary and high school. We have dedicated, caring, staff members that are committed to help students successfully transition through these years. We recognize the individual necessities of individuals vary; regardless of any variable, each student should be given the opportunity to develop to the fullest extent those abilities and qualities which are essential to his becoming a worthy contributor to his fellow man. There is no greater adventure or reward than working with middle school students and parents.
OFFICE INFORMATION
The Bethany Middle School office staff respectfully requests the following assistance so we can better serve you.
If you plan on visiting our campus please come to the office and sign in and receive a visitor’s badge.
When students come to the office and want to use the phone we ask them who do they need to call and why. In an effort to control passing of germs the office staff will gladly make phone calls for students, providing it is an emergency (i.e. lunch money, contacts/glasses, medicine, practice/game time changes, etc). Additionally, if you see Bethany Middle School’s phone number on your caller I.D. indicating a missed call from Bethany, check your voice mail or messages. The call could have been placed by our automated calling system.
The office receives a large volume of calls to get notes and messages to students. We do realize that true emergencies arise, and we are more than happy to help anytime. However we will try to not interrupt class to make these announcements. Questions regarding the feeding of the dog, where’s the remote and the key is under the mat we feel are not reasons to interrupt the learning time of our students. If at all possible communicate with your child, regarding after school plans, in the morning before coming to school or perhaps the night before. If you are planning on checking your student out for a doctor’s appointment we will be glad to call that student to the office right before check out time.
We are also asking that you make sure that your contact information is always updated. If you have changed a phone number, your address, employment, emergency contacts or who is allowed to check out or pick up your child, we need new information.
School office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The middle school’s phone number is 787-3240. If your student is going to be absent we ask that you call the office before 10:00 a.m. Homework Hotline is 787-3240, 6th grade ext. 328, 7th grade ext. 329, and 8th grade ext. 330.
The office staff would like to thank you for helping us help you!
