A total of 14 HS students and 24 MS students attended AERO Oklahoma Day at the State Capitol on 4/2. Brigadier General Christopher Eason and State Senator Pugh were among the keynote speakers. Hosted annually, the event highlights Oklahoma's booming aerospace industry, which stands as the state's second-largest economic driver. Students were able to visit with college aerospace studies representatives, military members, and even House Representatives. Thank you to Coach Allen and Ms. Escoe for taking our students for this opportunity!

April Fools Day was celebrated earlier this week by our Fine Arts department when Mrs. Annie Mann and Ms. Shae Uthe, orchestra directors, and Mrs. Dena Chitwood and Mr. Wendyle Andrews, vocal music directors, swapped places to surprise each other's 1st hour HS Orchestra and 6th grade Honors Chorus classes!

Due to weather, the soccer tournament scheduled for today and Saturday in Weatherford has been canceled. We will let you know if make up days are made available. Thank you, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

The Elementary Indian Ed club hosted a program titled “Understanding Regalia” presented by the Red Earth Foundation. The event featured Choctaw tribal member, Asa Samuel. We invited all grades, including middle school students, to attend. Mr. Samuel did a presentation of his Northern Straight Dance Regalia (clothing/attire) and described in detail the meaning, materials and personal significance of each of the pieces. He then did a dance demonstration. It was a great educational presentation that all the students and staff enjoyed.

Save the Date for 25-26 Pom tryouts! Don't forget the required informational meeting on Apr 7th, and mark your calendars for tryouts on Apr 15-16. See you there!

Although we joke around a lot, in addition to the snacks and pizza, yearbook class is a great opportunity for students to learn a LOT of skills that will serve them well throughout middle school, high school, and beyond. If your student is interested, we hope to see them at today's meeting!
