5th grade students wrapped up our physical science unit with a Chemical Change Cafe. We read the book Pancakes Pancakes by Eric Carle and made pancakes on griddles in the classroom. Students observed pancakes cooking to determine if there was evidence of a chemical or physical change. They wrote a claim and used evidence from the lab to support their ideas. Parents graciously donated time and helped flip pancakes. Mrs Chavez even came by to get a taste of science.

Meet Kylin, the ultimate Super Bowl investigator! 🏈 This young man from Mrs. Allen's class had a mission—he wanted to know who the 5th grade thought would take home the Super Bowl trophy! 🏆 So, Kylin went around to every class, asking students to cast their votes.
After gathering all the votes, Kylin got down to business and made an awesome graph to show the results. And guess what? The 5th graders are all in for the Chiefs to win! It looks like they’re ready to cheer on Kansas City for the big win! 🎉 Let’s see if they’ve got the inside scoop on this one! 🏈👀

🎉 A Big Congratulations to Catherine Allen, Teacher of the Year! 🎉
Mrs. Allen is a shining star in our school community! As one of our AMAZING Special Education teachers, her love and dedication to her students is truly inspiring. Every day, she brings warmth, kindness, and a heart full of love to her classroom! 💖✨
When she's not making a difference in the classroom, she’s an awesome mom to Camryn (Kindergarten) and Cassandra (3rd grade)! 🌸👩👧👧
We’re so grateful for all you do, Mrs. Allen! You're a true gem! 💎🌟

🎉 Happy National Counselors Week! 🎉
We’re so lucky to celebrate the amazing Mrs. Claborn today! Mrs. Claborn is our 4th-8th grade counselor. Let’s get to know her better and learn all about what makes her so special! 💖
Tell us about your family!
I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 21 years (22 this summer – can you believe it?). We have a son, Brody, who’s in 10th grade here at Bethany, and our French Bulldog, Ellie, is the daughter I never had. 🐾💕
What is your favorite drink?
It’s a tough choice, but I’ll say either a cold Coke or some Unsweet Mango Tea – both are perfect for any mood! 🥤🍹
What is your favorite food?
Mexican food is my absolute favorite! Tacos, enchiladas, and all the chips and queso! 🌮🧀
What is your favorite color?
Dark purple is my go-to color! It’s bold, beautiful, and just feels so perfect. 💜
What do you do in your free time?
When I’m not working, I love reading, watching movies, or just hanging out with my family. There’s nothing better than quality family time! 📚🍿👨👩👧👦
What is your favorite thing about being a Broncho?
The best thing about being a Broncho is the incredible sense of family here. Brody has been at Bethany since Pre-K, and we’ve loved every minute of it. Now that I get to work here, it makes it even more special! 🐴💛

🎉 Happy National Counselors Week! 🎉

Tell us about your family!
I’m married to my wonderful husband, Chris. We have two beautiful girls: Ellie Joy, who is in 2nd grade, and Poppie Grace, who is in Pre-K. Oh, and we can’t forget our adorable Labradoodle, Remmy! 🐾
What is your favorite drink?
Diet Coke 🥤
What is your favorite food?
I’m all about Italian and Mexican food! Pasta and tacos... yes, please! 🍝🌮
What is your favorite color?
Pink, all the way! 💖
What do you do in your free time?
I love spending time with my family – whether we’re playing, exploring, or just hanging out together. Family time is the best! 👨👩👧👧
What is your favorite thing about being a Broncho?
My absolute favorite part of being a Broncho is getting to work with the AMAZING staff and students. And the best part? I get to do it all while my girls are at the same school! It’s a full-circle kind of joy. 🐴💛
We are so thankful for Mrs. Holcomb! She is truly one of the best!!

Holiday Parties are here!!! Tomorrow is the day! We will have a fun Holiday Roundup at 8 am to start off the fun! Please remember to NOT park in any SNU parking lots! Attached is a parking mapping! We are looking forward to seeing you!!

Our first grade friends have been having a magical time celebrating Christmas Around the World! They’ve already "traveled" to Mexico, where they learned about fun piñatas, and to Australia, where Christmas is celebrated with summer fun and beach vibes!

The Elves are back at school, and they sure know how to make an entrance! They started their day high up on the rooftops, keeping a watchful eye on everyone below. But the fun didn’t stop there—they were spotted all over at lunch, bringing smiles and a little bit of holiday magic wherever they went! We are truly blessed by great admin here at Bethany Elementary!!

Mrs. Hanger’s first graders have been having so much fun learning about the writing process! They’re writing letters to Santa and following 3 important steps: first, they map out their thoughts, then they write a rough draft, and finally, they create a shiny, perfect final draft on their special Santa paper. Such a creative way to share their holiday wishes!
